That Niggling Voice Inside

Summer Bums: The last of summer fun. Artwork by Suzanne

“I have no special talent, I am only passionately curious.” Albert Einstein

Ha! Hard not to think of Einstein as immensely talented! But it is amazing where curiosity will lead you.  When you follow your curiosity new vistas often open. Have you noticed how much more fun curious people seem to have?

Many of us have put a lid on our curiosity – too busy, too complacent, perhaps too confused by choices. Yet we are all often beset by a small niggling voice – What if? How? Why?

As humans we generally only use about 10% of our brain. This little niggling voice is what we refer to in our book as the Call to Action, often only a whisper. When we listen and allow ourselves to explore, the world opens up. And a satisfying life is one where we are continually learning and growing. It is never too late to begin a new hobby, try a different genre of literature, explore foreign cuisine.

We do not have to be Einstein to reap the rewards of following our curiosity!

Ask yourself –

What little niggles have been tickling my brain lately?

Am I excited or a little afraid to pursue them?

Am I willing to make the time and energy commitment to do so?

As summer blends into autumn, curiosity may lead you to something exciting and new!  Patty & Suzanne

  1. I believe that niggle is your subconscious asking to be heard. If anyone feels embarrassed by that start small with something easy you already once new. For me I play “Twinkle Twinkle little star” once a year on a trumpet I played very well 40+ years ago. It is still recognizable but… It’s a trigger/ magic carpet to a place in time and people that make me smile. Still. Take the ride a Niggle can provide.
